Profile of our new officers

President

Vraj obtained his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India in 2017 and Masters in Technology in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2019. He worked as a Junior Research Fellow in the Advanced Technology Development Center at IIT Kharagpur, India for a year and joined PhD in Chemical Engineering at University of Houston in Fall 2020. His doctoral research is in the field of Crystal Engineering and Biomaterials, focused on Pathological crystallization in kidney stone crystals, particularly Calcium Oxalate Monohydrate and Struvite crystals.

Vice President

Kenneth Lucas Kusima obtained his B.S in Engineering Science with a Minor in Mathematics from Trinity University, located in San Antonio, Texas in 2019. He then received a Masters of Chemical Engineering from Rice University, located in Houston, Texas in 2020. His current research focuses on generating Machine-Learned Kinetic Models for the ammoxidation reaction in the production of acrylonitrile.

Social Chair

Hanny got her Bachelor of Science, majoring, in Chemical Engineering at UH. She joined the Ph.D. program at UH in Fall 2020, and her research is on characterizing bacterial persisterโ€™s metabolism through CRP/cAMP pathway.

Treasurer/Webmaster

Kwabena earned his bachelor of science in chemical engineering degree at K.N.U.S.T in Ghana. After serving for a year in the same university as a Teaching Assistant, he moved on to Imperial College London for his MSc in advanced chemical engineering specializing in process systems engineering. Kwabena is currently a first year PhD student in UH studying physics-based molecular simulations.
